The LUNA-II™ is an automated cell counter that gives you the ultimate brightfield cell counting experience. Press count and the LUNA-II™ does the rest – bringing your cells into the sharpest focus, adjusting light levels, capturing a high-resolution image, and analyzing the image to produce accurate cell count and viability data. You can create custom, cell-specific cell counting protocols or simply use the default counting protocol suitable for most cell lines. Live cells are tagged with green circles and dead cells are tagged with red circles, making it easy to verify the accuracy of each count. The LUNA-II™ sits comfortably in a cell culture hood or on your benchtop to fit seamlessly into your workflow.

The automated cell counter LUNA II™ has integrated a novel focussing mechanism based on liquid lenses technology.
The liquid lenses do not use any mechanical moving parts to change the Z stage.
Instead, the position of the sample is rapidly obtained by the application of a small voltage to the liquid lens. The elimination of moving parts removes noise and significantly reduces the need of servicing. Even after multi-million cycles of focussing, the liquid lens does not require repair or service.
In combination with this novel focussing mechanism, the LUNA II™ has integrated a new autofocusing algorithm optimized for cell counting

Fantastic easy to use machine
The LUNA-II is a fantastic product that has allowed me to create reproducible experiments within my cell culture.
